Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 often referred to professionally under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to be signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. In July of 2015, Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time was interested in having her create Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed alongside Cozz for The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer to J. Cole on his song Change in 2017, and appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The singer also performed in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream, from the album was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a the music video. She released her second single Grampa on November 9. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was released with a video on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been watched over 3 million times in the first seven days. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December the year 2018.
